Tequesquite Landfill Solar Project
Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) is actively researching companies who can design, build, and operate a solar energy generation facility on top of Riverside's former Tequesquite Landfill.
The utility anticipates that the project site - which stopped receiving waste in 1985, was fully capped, and then decommissioned in 1998 - could accommodate a solar generation system of 5 to 10 megawatts capacity that would feed directly into Riverside's power grid, further adding to the city's growing renewable energy portfolio.
